Indian Charge Point Operators Association has been formed as an industry association representing Charge Point Operators (CPO), Charger Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), and Electric Mobility Service Provider (EMSP). The Association is a company under Section-8 of Indian Companies Act. The objective of the Association is to work with Ministries/department/PSUs of Central Govt/State Govt’s/Electricity Regulators/EV OEMs/autonomous institutions/ other decision makers and stakeholders to identify the policies and investments needed to facilitate the scale and volume of EV (ELECTRIC Vehicles) charging stations for uptake of electric vehicles. This Association would act as a Centre of Expertise for the sector with the aim to educate and inform various stakeholders and public about the key role of EVs (ELECTRIC Vehicles) and the related infrastructure for achieving zero-emission transportation which would aid to meeting India’s net zero emission target. Currently, this Association has sixteen leading players in EV charging ecosystem. GLIDA, ChargeZone, Zeon, EVRE, Magenta Mobility, Jio-BP Mobility, ADOR, Exicom, Tirex, Mindra, Gentari, VNT, Bright Blu, One Plug, Pulse Energy, and Plugzmart. Many more have evinced interest in joining the membership of this industry body.
