Cognibotics has secured €6.5 million in blended finance from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator under the Horizon Europe programme. The funding package includes a €2.5 million grant along with €4 million in equity investment.

Advancing a new class of industrial robots
The investment will support the continued development and industrialisation of the HKM1800, Cognibotics’ robotic platform designed for logistics and manufacturing environments.
The system combines a novel hybrid kinematic design with advanced motion control, enabling delta-level speed across a workspace up to ten times larger, while consuming roughly one-third less energy than conventional robots.
Paired with model-based motion control software and intuitive programming tools, the HKM1800 is built to simplify engineering, accelerate commissioning, and make automation easier to scale across operations.
This positions the HKM1800 as a new category of industrial robot, capable of delivering more than 2,000 picks per hour across a 10-square-meter workspace effectively overcoming the traditional trade-off between speed and reach.
Cognibotics was also recognized by the EIC as one of just five standout companies featured in its official announcement for this funding round. The company also acknowledged GAEU Consulting for its support during the EIC Accelerator application process.
Addressing growing automation demands
The project targets increasing demand for scalable automation solutions across Europe, driven by labor shortages, higher throughput requirements, and the need for more energy-efficient industrial systems.
About the EIC Accelerator
The EIC Accelerator is among the most competitive funding programs globally for breakthrough innovations.
It supports startups and SMEs with grants of up to €2.5 million, alongside equity investments ranging from €1 million to €10 million via the EIC Fund.
In the June 2026 funding round, 38 companies were selected from 87 finalists that reached the interview stage, with a total proposed grant allocation of €90 million.
Leadership Comment
Fredrik Malmgren, CEO of Cognibotics, commented:
“This is a strong validation of both our technology and our strategic direction. Beyond bringing the HKM1800 to market, this project is also about advancing the software and automation approach behind it, giving us a solid foundation to scale in logistics and manufacturing.”
As part of its submission, Cognibotics created a pitch video outlining its vision, the HKM1800 platform, and the software approach behind it:https://youtu.be/fXcBMqfEJyk
