Most people who own a smartwatch or smart ring can tell you their heart rate variability score. Far fewer know what to do with it. Vilo says its new Signal OS is designed to close that gap.
Backed by HSG, formerly Sequoia Capital China, Vilo has introduced Signal OS, an AI-native operating system for its upcoming ring-first wearable platform.
The idea is to move wearables beyond static dashboards and retroactive scores, and instead turn sensor data into timely, easy-to-understand guidance without making users open an app and sift through charts.
As wearable hardware has improved, the category has mostly settled into the same formula: collect data, display charts, assign scores, and then use AI to explain the results afterward. Signal OS aims to change that by adding the missing layer of interaction, shifting wearables from measurement to meaning.
The company is led by Gee Gu and Andy Xu, who previously built HEXA Robot and MindOS, an early robotics operating system that combined SDKs, control systems, and interaction logic. Their background in turning machine inputs into real-time, usable outputs fits closely with the problem Signal OS is trying to solve. They are also joined by Ben Zhang, co-founder of a multi-billion-dollar consumer technology company, who serves as a partner and advisor on consumer hardware.
Unlike signals in context, prioritizing what matters and surfacing timely next steps.traditional wearable platforms built around dashboards and retrospective data, Signal OS interprets.
It continuously identifies patterns in the background and translates body signals into meaningful, readable guidance delivered proactively, without requiring users to constantly check an app.
The new OS is designed for wellness guidance and self-understanding, not diagnosis or treatment.
